We pick up in New Orleans at any hotel, Bed & Breakfast or select Airbnbs, uptown (close to St. Charles Ave.), in (or close to) the French Quarter, and on the Westbank. We do not pick up by the airport, in New Orleans East, in Slidell, or on the North Shore. Supplier will contact you the day before your tour to give you an exact pick up time.
Your bayou and plantation tour begins with morning pickup from your downtown New Orleans hotel. Make sure to grab breakfast and coffee before boarding the bus for the ride to your airboat launch point. In a bayou‐side Cajun Village near Paradis, Louisiana, you’ll transfer to a small airboat for an exhilarating ride. Skirt along the water, viewing the lush greenery and spotting local wildlife.      

Following your bayou adventure, enjoy a relaxing drive along Lake Pontchartrain to Destrehan Plantation, the oldest documented plantation home in the Mississippi Valley. As a costumed guide leads you through the restored antebellum mansion, hear stories of the estate’s former owners and slaves before taking a self‐guided tour through vibrant gardens and down oak‐lined paths.

They will also tell you about its wonderfully restored Greek Revival architecture.

Got sick and they wouldn’t refund it. I even asked if they would just give me a different day. I would have ended up in the emergency room in the heat.

Dear Ms Elizabeth, You confirmed you were OK with your pick up time on the day before the tour, then at 5:16 am, less than 3 hours prior to your tour, you texted us about feeling sick, worried about the heat and wishing to cancel. As to the heat, our vans are very nicely air-conditioned, so are the Plantation homes we visit. On the airboat, the heat is very much mitigated by the large fan blades propelling it, and it is always cooler on water than land! That tour was not going out the next day, this left us with no option to re-schedule you. We had to pay for your places on the Airboat ride as well as the Plantation visit, plus it was too late for us to resell the 2 seats. As we discussed over the phone and by text messages, we are just the local tour company in New Orleans, you booked with Viator/Trip Advisor, and they set the 24 hours /no refund cancellation policy, we have absolutely no control over it, they are the ones with your payment info. Great tour. The boat was first and really great fun if you like alligators. I’d advise bringing wipes and spare clothes as you get muddy. The plantation is ok and you learn some history which is always good. Our guide Steve made the trip really memorable. I would advise asking for his tour when you book.

This was a lot of fun! While traveling to the swamp boat destination you get to hear some more about the city and see some of the sights. The swamp boat ride and the plantation tour were a lot of fun and very interesting to learn about not only the history, but gators too!!

This was the best day of my trip. Isabelle picked up everyone in the group on time and provided plenty of fun facts and information. The tour guide for the airboat venture and plantation were first rate experiences. The gators were everywhere we went in the wetland and our operator made the experience so much fun. Warning you will be very close to these marvelous creatures so make sure you are prepared fir this encounter. The plantation was rich with history and presentation of the home was fabulous.

What a great trip! Our host was phenomenal! Giving us a history lesson on New Orleans and the surrounding area as we drove out to the swamp. At the swamp, our new tour guide was excellent giving us lessons on swamp life and showing us the treat of a few alligators up close! Wild life was amazing including seeing the Bald Eagle. Touring the plantation was so fascinating! I would have liked to learn more about the family and their daily lives but I understand the need to discuss the enslaved peoples endeavor.

our guide was very informative. boat not only the water, the nature but the history. the boat was refreshing wind on a hot day! the alligators loved our visit as it was filled with snacks! The head phones were a nice touch to hide the noise. the boats were very clean!

I did this tour with a group of friends before we had to return to the UK early as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak. Isabelle was a great and very knowledgeable tour guide. She even offered to put us up if we got stuck! This is a great combination tour to learn more about the plantation history and then the thrill of the airboat experience where we saw plenty of alligators. Thanks again to Isabelle. I highly recommend and have great memories to take me thoughts current challenging circumstances.

Such a great experience. Would do this again in a second. Our driver was knowledgeable, respectful of the environment, kid focused pictures with alligators! and obviously loved what he does. The Plantation Tour part was interesting but really didn't come alive for us. I think our tour guide was new.

We found the plantation tour very good with a great guide who gave excellent explanations with a good mixture of humour. The swamp tour was exciting especially meeting 'Francois' the alligator. My only complaint there was no where to buy a good lunch only snacks. Came back somewhat hungry!

The small-group was not really small. The airboat swamp tour took place in a big boat with 12 persons. I paid a higher price to have the chance to do it in a small group but they put together two groups...so little bit of disappointment. A part from this nice tour.
