Think Twice

Time stated wasn’t correct and the operator tried to tell me my tickets were not valid. When I asked him for a refund he tried to tell me Viator was the issue. He then scanned my ticket only to discover my ticket was indeed valid. We then had to wait in line for over an hour in a half to board a subpar bus.

Our Day on the Big Bus in DC
Diana_M

We enjoyed us of the app to visit sites we were interested in. It was also convenient to follow where the buses were on the route to estimate a wait time.

We have used your service in DC pre-Covid. We were so excited to take family on it as it had been such a positive experience in the past. Yesterday’s experience couldn’t have been more disappointing.

I think this would have been a wonderful tour, unfortunately, it absolutely poured. We were soaked, the seats filled with water. Not your fault. We did appreciate the pancho you handed out

Would not recommend
Kayla_D

The app is great, but the bus tracking and time estimates seem off. Plus, it doesn’t start until 10 or 11am, forcing us to pay for Lyfts all morning. I feel that this was a waste of money and would not recommend it for DC.

Overview of DC sites...

Overview of DC sites good. Often we had to wait more than 20 minutes, especially at the Wharf. Hot and humid day of tour. Most memorable site is Lincoln memorial and view from steps of Capitol.

Cancelled tour
Tamie_S
, Jun 2022
Planned my tour over a month in advance only to show up and find out that it had been cancelled because of a festival. I understand that with the roads being closed they can't go to those stops but we saw plenty of other stops (and tour buses) along our walking that day. If not, then at least an advance notice so that we could've tried planning something else instead of walking throughout the whole city trying to see everything we wanted to see. Which we did not.

Never Using Big Bus Again
Kimberly_C
, Jun 2022
Audio was terrible. Out of five seats only 3 stations worked. BIG PROBLEM: we had reservations for a monuments by moonlight tour and did not get to take the tour. The company had overbooked by two full bus loads. So embarrassing for me in front of my guests

Bad communication and short of drivers created very unpleasant experience do not provide what they advertise

We waited along with 25 other people at The Capitol stop #11 to be picked up. The buses never came We realized after such a long wait , they weren’t coming to that sop or #12 at all. We all pilgrimage (we did not know each other( to stop 8) which was more than a mile away. The entire pint of reserving the bus was to not walk as much. I am 66 and had my 10 year old granddaughter with me. We along with others wasted 2 hours of our time and felt very frustrated the company never notified us there would not be pick up at those stops. Once we got on the bus, the audio is terrible and does not give interesting content (in this day and age…wow). Very second class. Once we got to the next stop at Le’flant Plaza, we were told there would be a 30 minute wait for another bus. I talked to an employee who told me employees were completely aware of 12 and 13 not having a stop that day other buses had been stopping and picking up at those points btw. The employee told me they were missing three drivers. I did not want to waste more time with Big Bus! Awful! So we didn’t use our 2 day pass at all. I asked for refund but was told they do not issue refunds ever. Even when they are at fault. They then said because you are the send party ( who sold us the ticket) it’s your place to refund. I’m asking you for a refund. Big Bus offered terrible service and had poor communication. It was a special trip for me and I had to pay for other means of transportation. Big Bus just wasted our time. I hope you are a credible company.

Long delays
Craig_L

We had long waits for busses. Over an hour at the Lincoln memorial. After finally getting to Arlington cemetery we just took the metro back. Reason given was lack of drivers. Also tour information was via ear bud headphones with poor audio quality

Not a good experience!
Mardine_L
, Jun 2022
Anticipating the experience n the flexibility we expected! The air con was not working n the audio did not work! After 5 stops the bus parked n we were told we were changing buses—no prior warning! The bus was parked in the sun n after 25 minutes we left! Windows we’re wide open n exhaust fumes coming in n the temperature was 93degrees! At the remaining stops there were lots of people wanting on so standing room only n people left waiting outside in the heat!

Great day!

This tour was perfect for us! I was a little nervous with some of the negative reviews, but we had none of that. The busses were on time at each stop. The app was working. The employees were all friendly. The audio tour was filled with some good info and was helpful. The bus always had room. It was so nice to have the option to stay on or get out and explore. It helped make our day a great one. We really enjoyed the Big Bus tour! Thank you!
