Don't do it!

David the drivers was precious. That's it. 1. The place to meet the bus is HARD to find. 2. At night you can only see 1/2 the memorials or monuments. 1/2 the stuff you don't get close to or it's impossible to see because it's dark. 3. Couldn't wait to get off. 4. Don't book.

Was really nice to see the monuments lit up at night. You have to watch low hanging limbs, we got conked in the head a couple of times. (Limbs were hard to see coming at night.).

Waste of money......tour very disorganized, whilst driver was fine the narration was awful. Too cold this time of year if not dressed correctly. Roads are not geared for old busses. So glad to get the hell off it. Walked back from Lincoln Memorial as the thought of getting back on was too much.

Must Do while in DC

We went on the Big Bus DC Night Tour on an absolutely beautiful October evening. Instructions and details for the tour were clear and easily understood, and the advance ticket process was easy. All of the staff, from the ticket takers to our driver David were cheerful and helpful. Driver Dave in particular is a gem! So funny, knowledgeable, and sweet. All of the members of our group learned facts we hadn’t known before, and we loved seeing and hearing about the various other DC buildings mentioned, in addition to the main monuments and attractions. This 90-100 minutes tour is perfect when you want to see the monuments at night, but don’t want to spend over three hours doing it. Thank you for a well-priced interesting tour that is an educational delight for all ages.

DO NOT DO THIS
Jay

This was overpriced, and a waste of time. P.S. this is coming from someone who sat at the bottom decker (so if you want a great/good experience, you NEED to sit at the top) 1. The bottom decker was extremely humid, and hard to breathe. The air was not working! My partner and I along with another couple got off the bus early. Since this was our first experience, we did not know that the top would be filled up and we’d only have the bottom option. This should be made explicit to guest before they purchase tickets. Also you cannot see the sites properly from the bottom so it truly is a waste of $$$. 2. My audio connection didn’t work. I sat there for a few minutes trying to fix it and missed a good portion of the beginning segment. After finally getting one that works, I realized that the info wasn’t the most updated. If you’re looking to gain a ton of knowledge skip this tour. There is so much history in DC so hearing so much about the football team, seems lackluster (and still referring to them as “Redskins” despite all of the controversy, what a shame. So in this regard spend a few extra bucks for other tours that you’ll actually learn from. 3. Update where people need to go. The address given was 700 L’Enfant plaza and it was impossible to find in an Uber and as tourists we didn’t know any better. So it took us nearly 20 minutes to find the bus and we ended up being extremely late. 4. At best this should be a $25 experience. It is no where worth the $44 that they charge.

Dirty seat, broken recording machine, dirty bathrooms at rest stop

Would not recommend the Night Big Bus Tour experience due to high price and false advertising. Called company before I went to verify that there would be live English tour guide. Was informed there would be live English tour guide. Got there and was just a recorded tour. My recording machine on bus was broken and I was told to just move to a seat with a working recording machine which was difficult since I was with my son and there were no open 2 seats next to each other. Also my sons bus seat had food on it so he couldn’t sit down until I found a piece of paper in my pocket book to wipe seat clean. Price of $49 per person way too high for quality of this tour. P.S. -Bathrooms at Lincoln Memorial crowded and dirty (sink broken and 2 bathroom doors broken) which is disgraceful since tourists from all around world visiting. Had to wait in bathroom line at Lincoln Memorial so long that had little time to see Lincoln Memorial. Try another tour.

It wasn’t clear where to pick up tickets since you don’t actually get them in the spy museum address given. Directions should state to meet outside and check in with an attendant. We were in the middle of the line and ended up boarding the second to last bus at the end and couldn’t get seats together. I decided to just leave. There should be a way to reserve a specific seat on the bus so your time is not wasted.

The tour was fantastic, great information and easy way to get around to see the most sights in a two hour period. Only note: make sure you are in Channel 2 to listen to the narration. Channel 1 was just a soundtrack, took us a while to figure it out. Another great experience.
